ESG is a highly relevant topic within the Brazilian capital markets ecosystem. Its three pillars—Environmental, Social, and Governance—represent guidelines for addressing long-standing organizational challenges. These concepts are gaining increasing importance as sustainable principles and best practices become more valued in the pursuit of a better, fairer, and more equitable future.
Given that ESG encompasses these three pillars, it’s natural for each company, depending on its business profile, to initially stand out more in one or two areas rather than excelling in all simultaneously. BEE4, for example, as a stock trading platform for SMEs, stands out primarily in the “Governance” and “Social” areas due to the impact this new market creates, more so than in the “Environmental” pillar, though it also has initiatives in that direction.
